Dr. Spires was born and raised in Bedford, Indiana.  His parents were teachers in the Oolitic elementary and middle schools. He graduated from the Bedford North Lawrence high school in 1992.  He met his wife, Shannon, during his junior year at BNL and they have now been married for 23 years.  They have three children.  Mason, Max and Madalyn have been the focus of their lives since they were born.

Dr. Spires’ father-in-law, Dr. Daniel Hall, is a general dentist in Bedford and encouraged him to enter the dental profession shortly after he finished high school.  After completing his dental training specializing in Endodontics, Dr. Spires started his practice from scratch at his current location 17 years ago.  

Spending quality time with his family is Dr. Spires's most treasured past time.  They enjoy trips to the ocean where he and his father-in-law scuba dive with his two boys.  Dr. Spires also enjoys weightlifting and utilizing certain cardio routines to stay in shape.  He strongly believes that physical fitness is the foundation for mental and emotional well being.  

Dr. Spires has an appreciation for many types of music and likes to play the guitar and piano with the hope of some day being the old guy playing the background music at the outdoor restaurants near the beach!

In addition, he enjoys reading for motivation, inspiration and knowledge.  Some of his favorite books are:
